1T-TiSeS

1T-TiSeS has first been synthesized in 1974, but in the disordered solid solution phase, and relevant theoretical research and experimental studies have been focused on the disordered phase. We recently found the ordered phase of 1T-TiSeS using our proprietary new material genetic engineering platform.

The ordered solid solution phase of 1T-TiSeS is a Janus material that consists of two distinct composition and physical/chemical properties on the two sides of the surfaces. As a result, this type of Janus material is one of the hottest research fields currently.

When put into water, the ordered solid solution phase of 1T-TiSeS could cause the electrons and holes generated from the sun light gathering on the different sides of the materials. Therefore, hydrogen and oxygen can be produced on the different sides of the material efficiently.

The ordered solid phase form of 1T-TiSeS also has many other useful physical properties including photoelectric conversion. The energy gap of the 1T-TiSeS ordered solid phase is small and absorption spectrum is wide, therefore can absorb light from infrared to ultraviolet.
