Ordered solid solution phase of 1T-TiSeS

A material that catalysed the conversion of water into hydrogen directly without the process of electricity generation. It has the following characteristics:

•The ordered solid solution phase of 1T-TiSeS is a Janus material that consists of two distinct composition and physical/chemical properties on the two sides of the surfaces.

•When put into water, the ordered solid solution phase of 1T-TiSeS could cause the electrons and holes generated from the sun light gathering on the different surfaces of the materials. Therefore, hydrogen and oxygen can be produced on the different surfaces of the material efficiently.

•The energy gap of the 1T-TiSeS ordered solid phase meets the requirement of absorbing wide spectrum of solar from infrared to ultraviolet.

Game Changing Green Hydrogen

•The main-stream technology of green hydrogen is a two-step process of renewable power generation, followed by electricity to hydrogen.

•There is a frontier technology using the photocatalytic effect of solar to generate hydrogen directly from water.

•This is a more efficient process compared to using solar panels as the later losses about 40% of the energy from the open-circuit voltage loss.

•Our material is a further improvement in the photocatalytic technology. It significantly reduces the loss of energy from recombination of electrons and electron holes, as they flow to different surfaces of the material.
